The Latvian Independence Day concert took place at the St Columba’s Church hall. The concert featured the premiere of “Dzīvības koks” (“Tree of Life”), a dance choreographed by our leader Aldis Salms.

At the concert we performed the dance with four couples, but the choreography is designed to scale to different numbers of couples — particularly important for diaspora groups.

We also danced “Buobu Dancis” and “Rūnu Raksti”.

“Rūnu Raksti” was the closing dance of the concert, performed both on stage and in the aisle.

The concert was filled with joy, warmth and genuine love for dance.
