For the second year running, Salinieki made the joyful journey north to Aberdeen, Scotland, to take part in the Latvian folk-dance concert “Dejo ar Mani”. The Scottish weather was about as you’d expect for February — which just gave us extra motivation to dance and keep moving during the rehearsal.
At the concert we performed three dances. The first was Aldis Salms' choreography “Dzīvības koks”, which we performed for the second time after its premiere at the 18 November concert.
We then danced “Mēs ciemiņus gaidīdami”, a piece we’d learnt two years earlier but performed in concert for the first time in Aberdeen.
We closed our part of the programme, just before the finale, with “Ai, tēvu zeme”.
